Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) an Autonomous Body under the Ministry of Shipping, Govt. of India intends to engage the 6 Specialist (Hydro) posts purely on Contractual basis, initially for a period of two years and likely to be extended for the period of further two years invite application from interested and eligible candidates
Name of post: Specialist (Hydro)
No of posts: 06(Six) [02 at IWAI, Noida and one each at IWAI, Kolkata, Guwahati, Patna & Varanasi office].
Age: Maximum 50 years as on closing date of receipt of application. (However for deserving candidate age relaxation may be considered depending on the health and experience).
Remuneration: Rs. 85,000/- (Eighty Five Thousand only) per month.
Educational Qualification, Experience and Competencies:
a. A Cat “B” Hydrographer / SR-1 from a IHO Certified Institute OR B.Tech (Civil Engg.) / B.Tech (Survey Engg.) OR Associate Member of Institution of Surveyors in Subdivision I(B)
b. Minimum post qualification, experience of 15 years in conducting Hydrographic Survey, investigation and measurements. Bathymetric Surveys (as per SP 44 standards), Topographic Survey in a variety of Geographical locations. Experience in waterways/port/river mapping with proficiency in using the GIS Software working knowledge, Spatial data formats and related metadata issues Working knowledge on S-57 data and ENC. Working knowledge of web mapping applications such as Google Earth, Bhuvan. Caris GIs etc.
Desirable: Good knowledge of mechanisms of DGPS, Single Beam & Multibeam Echo Sounder, Hypack, Sweep, calculation of dredging volumes using Dredge Pack, Global Mapper, calculation of Tide and Co-Tidal, Sounding Datum.
How to apply: The applicant must enclose the self-attested copies of certificates, testimonials in support of the eligibility criteria as stipulated in the advertisement, failing which the candidature shall be treated as non-eligible. The decision of the Authority as regards to the eligibility of a candidate or otherwise shall be final and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
